Questions.
How much does an ecommerce accountant cost in Canada?
Our plans start at $1,000 a month for Core, $1,300 for Premium and $2,000 for Platinum. Where you land within that depends on your order volume, how many companies you run, how many platforms and payment gateways you use, and how often you file sales tax. Catching up a prior year is quoted separately.
Could my price change later?
It can, in both directions. Order volume is the heaviest factor, so a store that grows a lot will move up. A store that consolidates platforms or gateways moves down. Either way we show you which answer changed and by how much.
My books are behind. Is that a problem?
No, and it is more common than not. We price the catch-up separately and up front, so you see the whole cost before committing to anything ongoing.
Do you handle the US side too?
Yes. US LLC setup, EIN, US filings and planning to avoid being taxed twice are included in Premium and Platinum. US state sales tax registration is an add on, since it depends which states you have crossed thresholds in.
Do you work with Amazon sellers as well as Shopify?
Yes. Amazon counts as an extra channel in your calculation, because it is a separate data source with its own fees and payout timing.
Is there a contract?
We work on a minimum twelve month engagement. After the first year it continues month to month, and you can end it any time with sixty days notice.
What software do I pay for myself?
On Premium and Platinum, QuickBooks is covered for you, along with Dext and A2X. Together those run $100 to $200 a month. On Core, the QuickBooks subscription is yours.
What happens if I get audited?
On Premium and Platinum, if the CRA or the IRS opens an audit, we handle it. There is no invoice on top for that work. Core does not include audit support.
