Not seeing yourself? We do not take on Americans who own a business in Canada, or files with PFIC holdings. Everything else, book a call and we will place you.
Starting prices, not quotes. We confirm one fixed number after we see your filings. If something later changes the forms, we requote before doing the work.
The three columns explained

What changes between the levels

Same filing at every level. What changes is when it goes out, who you can reach, and how much of an audit you are covered for.
Platinum
Filed first, covered in full, and a director on the other end of the phone.
What's included
  • Filed in March, ahead of everyone else
  • Audit fully covered, a 3,000 value
  • A director as your point of contact
  • Unlimited SMS, call, email and chat, next day reply
  • Unlimited planning sessions, plus 2 meetings in tax season
  • Deductions maximized using the US tax treaty
  • 100% money back guarantee
Premium
Both sides handled by one team, with a manager who answers in two days.
What's included
  • Filed in April
  • First audit correspondence covered, a 1,500 value
  • A manager as your point of contact
  • Call, email and chat in the app, two day reply
  • Deductions maximized using the US tax treaty
  • 2 planning sessions a year
Core
Both sides filed correctly, by email, without the extras.
What's included
  • Filed between April and June
  • Cross border compliance review and double tax saving
  • An accountant as your contact, by email, 3 to 4 day reply
  • Client portal, phone app and 24/7 status tracker
  • Audit insurance available as an add on
Audit insurance applies where all the work was done by SAL Accounting. A Core return needing extra time gets an estimate of what you owe, then is filed after the deadline.
Before you book

Are we the right firm for you?

Yes
  • You sell online and the US side has grown big enough to need its own filings
  • You own a US LLC as a Canadian and you have heard the penalties are serious
  • You have returns due in both countries and nobody is joining them up
  • You would rather one firm held both sides than two firms held one each
Not a fit
  • You are an American who owns a business in Canada. We do not take this on
  • Your file involves PFIC holdings. We do not take this on
  • You want the lowest price above everything else
  • You need payroll as the main job. It sits outside these prices

Questions.

Personal returns start at 3,500 a year. One entity starts at 400. A Canadian who owns a US LLC starts at 3,300 on Premium. A US LLC plus a Canadian corporation starts at 6,000. Opening a company is 1,100 to 1,500, charged once. All in Canadian dollars.

Per filing year, not per month. The fee covers the returns and the reporting for that year. Opening a company is the one exception and it is charged once per company.

The filing is the same. The service around it is not. Platinum files in March, with a director on the phone and your audit covered in full. Core files between April and June, by email.

Work inside one situation still varies. Volume, income streams, how far behind the books are, and whether a second entity is involved all change it. We confirm one fixed number after we see your filings.

On the business side, US LLC and corporation formation, EIN applications, corporate returns including 1120 and 1120-F, Form 8832 and 8833 elections, 5471 and 8865 reporting, and GST or HST filings. On the personal side, 1040 and 1040-NR returns, FBAR and Form 8938 reporting, T1135, Section 216 returns, foreign tax credits, treaty elections and ITIN applications.

Most sellers need both, and one firm does both. Monthly bookkeeping and your Canadian filings sit on the ecommerce pricing page. These prices cover the US side once you open an LLC. One call and we will tell you which parts you need.

Two things. Americans who own a business in Canada, and files with PFIC holdings. We will say so on the call rather than waste your time.

Platinum covers a CRA or IRS audit in full, a 3,000 dollar value. Premium covers the first correspondence, a 1,500 dollar value. On Core it is available as an add on. Coverage applies where all the work was done by SAL Accounting.
